Exactly one week since my wedding day, I have many things to blog about that I don't know where to start. Anyway I would say it was quite a smooth day for us, at least nothing serious corked up.
I actually overslept when I'm supposed to wake up at 4am, was startled by my mua's fone call which was half hr later. My alarm didn't ring!!! She already reached my house downstairs. I managed to shower and blow-dry my hair in 15mins which is bery fast for me. My photographer (Ashley) reached shortly at 5am and started to take photos. Ade was the first to reach my house and her bro came along too. He's opening the bridal car door for hubby when he reached. Followed by Shan. Jess was late so there's some timing issue. Dave (one of the xiong di) lived near Jess so he went over to fetch her and drop her at my place before sending hubby (he's at our love nest) to my PIL place. In the end hubby reached his father's place quite late. Lucky our parents place are very near if not we would have missed the 'ji shi'.
Hubby and guys finally reached my place ard 7am and the gatecrashing war started. My jiemeis prepared the 'suan tian ku la' for hubby and his xiong dis together with questions. Suan - suck lemons, Tian - finish up a jar of blueberry jam, Ku - ku cha & bittergourd, La - bread with wasabi. Finishing the suan tian ku la punishment, they have to choose 4 numbers and prepare an angbao according to it. There's one part my jiemeis want my hubby and his xiong di to kiss each other on the lips with a nicely decorated cardboard heart and there's 'bao xian zhi' wrapping over it. They say no need so mafan and kissed straight away. Final question - hubby have to guess correctly the song that symbolise our love and sing it. I could hear clearly from my room. Hubby took quite awhile to guess and my jiemeis gave him a hint that it was a song that we danced together before. They were like murmuring the lyrics until one of the xiong di found the MP3 in his hp and played it. They finally got into my house but that's not the end...There's three strands of marshmallow attached with keys. Hubby have to choose one, he and his brothers to finish the marshmallow using their mouths before he can try open my bedroom door with the key. Hubby was lucky, he got it right with his first try.
We left for our love nest after eating the 'ji dan mian xian'. Stayed there for about half an hr before proceeding to my PIL place. Hubby's younger brother came down to open the door for him. Alot of relatives were there and having their buffet already. I settled down for awhile before the tea ceremony starts. It ended short and sweet when initially we thought it will be long since so many people. I was there for one hr plus before I changed to my tea dress and getting ready to return to my mother's place. The morning event ended around 12 plus after having our lunch buffet at my mother's place. We went back to our house, did some packing and went down to the hotel to check in.
The bridal suite was quite big (comparable to a small studio apartment), I thought it will be small becos we are not taking the grand ballroom. The bathroom was big too and it has a jacuzzi bathtub. I dilly-dally for awhile, took pictures, removed my makeup and had my shower before going down to our ballroom and have our briefing with the banquet manager. Jenny was my female emcee and she was there as well. Shortly after, I went back to my room and get ready for my mua to arrive. When I was done, it was already very late around 8plus. Only then hubby told me there's accident near our hotel, heavy jam and not enough parking lots. The mua I got for my MIL was so inexprienced that the whole makeup took 2 hrs to complete. They were late as well and most of their relatives were there already. Many of his friends had not arrived yet and the banquet manager kept pressing hubby to start the dinner as the reception area was getting too crowded. In the end, the manager insisted that the dinner must commence at 845. Hubby was looking so stressed and frustrated when he came up to look for me.
Hubby helped me with my jewellery and we went down together getting ready for our 1st march-in. We were relieved that most of our guests had reached. The dinner went on smoothly and finally its time to send our guests off. Some of our friends stayed on, waiting for the moment to sabotage hubby with liquor. And of cos, photo-taking time with my jiemeis. Really got to thank them for making the day a successful & memorable wedding for the both of us. We mingled awhile at the reception area before getting back to our room. Some of our friends went up together. When they finally left for the night, I felt super duper tired. I almost fell asleep while removing my makeup. We managed to sleep at 3plus.
Woke up before 10am, not wanting to miss the breakfast provided by the hotel. Hubby went down to the bridal studio and return the gowns while I slacked in our room. We checked out ard 2pm (initially wanted to extend another night but its too expensive) and went over to look for hubby's friend with his wife who were checking out from his hotel. Had our lunch at Chatterbox in Meritius Mandarin and we chatted for awhile before going to airport. Hubby's friends were taking a plane back to Malaysia. So jealous..the wife of hubby's friend was carrying a blue Hermes bag neh. When can I have my 1st hermes bag??
Ok anyway thats what had happened on my wedding, hopefully I've got everything down... Think I was quite loh soh..haha
